Best Remote-Control and App-Controlled Vibrators for Couples (2026): Range, Controls and Specs
A remote lets one partner control a vibrator the other is wearing or using, without reaching for a button on the toy. Some toys add an app, which can extend control over Bluetooth or even over the internet for long-distance play. The details differ a lot: remote type, range, whether the remote is waterproof, and whether you need a phone at all.
This is a research-based roundup. We compared five models on the specs their makers publish, checked on 25 October 2026. We haven't hands-on tested them, and we don't rate sensation. See how we research.

Remote, app or both?
- A physical remote works without a phone and without an app account, so no usage data goes through an app. Range is limited: We-Vibe lists 3 m for Unite, and LELO lists up to 12 m for LYLA 2.35
- An app adds custom patterns and, with We-Vibe, long-distance control through a partner's phone. It also adds a phone, an account and data. We-Vibe's app has a "Long Distance Play" section with chat and video calls.6 Read our privacy checklist before pairing any toy.
- Both: Sync O and Chorus offer a remote and app control.12
1. We-Vibe Sync O: best all-rounder (remote plus app)
- Remote and app: an included remote and We-Vibe app support.1
- Run / charge: 150 min / 90 min, the longest run time here.1
- Waterproofing: IPX7.1
- Design: a wearable C-shape with a flexible O-shaped loop.1
For a deeper look, see Sync O vs Chorus.
2. We-Vibe Chorus: most interactive remote
- Remote: the Squeeze remote raises intensity the harder you squeeze. We-Vibe says it's the "anchor" between Chorus and the app, so keep it nearby even when using the app. The remote is only splash-proof, so keep it out of the bath.2
- Touch-sense: receptors on the toy let movement change the vibration.2
- Run / charge: 90 min / about 120 min via the charging case.2
3. We-Vibe Unite: simplest remote, no app
- Remote: "a single button that either partner can use", working "up to a distance of three meters".3
- Modes: Low, Medium, High, Pulse, Wave, Cha-Cha, Tease and Ramp.3
- In the box: a 2 ml We-Vibe Lube (made by pjur) sample and a storage bag.3
- Watch out for: the page gives two different run times. The features list says "up to 60 minutes", while the spec table says "up to 120 minutes". It lists a 6-hour charge time and describes the toy as "splashproof", not IPX7.3 Plan for the lower run-time figure, and don't submerge it.
4. LELO TIANI Duo: motion-controlled remote, published noise level
- Remote: a wireless controller with SenseMotion, which LELO says lets you "increase the pleasure with the flick of a wrist". The remote takes 2×AAA batteries, which are included.4
- Motors: two (130 Hz and 105 Hz).4
- Noise: max. 50 dB. LELO publishes this; We-Vibe doesn't for the models above.4
- Run / charge: up to 2 h / 2 h. It switches off automatically after 20 minutes.4
- Size / weight: 90 × 45 × 30 mm / 80 g.4
5. LELO LYLA 2: longest published range
- Remote range: up to 12 m (39 ft), the longest listed range in this roundup. LELO claims "3 x greater range than other wireless massagers". We couldn't verify that comparison, so treat it as a marketing claim.5
- Type: a remote-controlled bullet vibrator, not a C-shape, so it's designed differently from the others here.5
- Battery: 2 h for the toy and 10 h for the controller. Standby is 90 days, and auto-off is at 20 minutes.5
- Noise: max. 50 dB.5
- Size / weight: 80 × 33 × 32 mm / 36 g.5
What the specs mean in practice
Range. Treat published figures as the maker's best case, not a guarantee. The figures here come from the makers: 3 m for Unite and 12 m for LYLA 2.35 Neither page says under what conditions the range was measured.
Waterproofing. An IPX7 toy can go in the bath, but a splash-proof remote can't. Chorus is the clearest example.2 IPX7 means immersion to 1 m for 30 minutes under IEC 60529.7
Noise. Only LELO publishes a maximum decibel figure (50 dB for TIANI Duo and LYLA 2).45 We-Vibe describes its toys as "whisper quiet" but gives no number on the pages we checked.3
Auto-off. LELO's 20-minute automatic switch-off saves battery, but you'll need to restart the toy for longer sessions.45
Lube. Use water-based lube with silicone toys. Both makers warn about silicone lube on some products.89 See best water-based lubes.
Charging and batteries: the hidden differences
- Charge time varies sixfold. We-Vibe lists 90 minutes for Sync O but 6 hours for Unite.13 LELO lists 2 hours for TIANI Duo and LYLA 2.45
- Remote batteries. LELO's TIANI Duo and LYLA 2 remotes run on 2×AAA batteries (included), so keep spares.45 Chorus charges in its case.2
- Standby. LELO lists up to 90 days of standby for LYLA 2. A toy left in a drawer for months may still need a top-up before use.5
Questions to ask before you buy
- Does the remote have the same waterproof rating as the toy?
- Is the range published, and is it enough for how you plan to use it?
- Do you want an app, and are you comfortable with its account and data terms?
- Is there an auto-off, and how long does it wait?
- Which lube does the manual allow?
How to choose
| If you want… | Consider |
|---|---|
| Remote and app, longest run time | Sync O |
| The most interactive physical remote | Chorus (squeeze) or TIANI Duo (motion) |
| No app, no account, simplest controls | Unite |
| The longest wireless range | LYLA 2 (up to 12 m) |
| A published noise ceiling | TIANI Duo or LYLA 2 (50 dB max) |
